CASE STUDY

The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building – breaking seven world records upon its completion in 2010. Standing at over 828 metres (2,717 feet) and 163 stories, this impressive commercial building is home to the highest observation deck in the world, the highest occupied floor in the world and the elevator with the longest travel distance in the world – among other impressive feats.

This mixed-use commercial building was completed in 2010 and was designed by Chicago-based architectural firm – Skidmore, Owings & Merrill

When it came time to source materials for this futuristic building, it was important to the Samsung C&T that not just the outside of the building be impressive. The efficiency of the build and the materials sourced to build it were of equal importance.

That’s why Samsung C&T chose IDEAL® Electrical Yellow 77 when selecting a cable pulling lubricant. IDEAL provided 46,000 gallons of Yellow 77, which helped the laborers pull cable conveniently and uniformly. IDEAL Yellow 77 cable pulling lubricant is a wax-based formula and is the perfect general-purpose lube. It is safe to use with most cable types except low-density polyethylene and semi-conducting jackets. Because Yellow 77 remains temperature-stable from 0°C to 54°C, it was the perfect product for the job in the heat of the Middle East.
