Joe is an electrician who hosts the channel @electricianjoe on social media and YouTube. After his experience with In-Sure Lever Connectors, he appreciated the built-in continuity check port and transparent housing for providing connection security he can trust.

Donny Metcalf, Master Electrician

 

Donny Metcalf is a master electrician and instructor at an IEC trade school. After testing In-Sure Lever Connectors on his jobsite, he shared his feedback in his responses to three questions below

 

How did the installation process compare to the type of connectors you usually use?

 

When compared to other wiring connectors, these lever connectors saved a vast amount of time. The large wire entry ports allowed for easy wire insertion and you know it’s a solid connection when you hear the “click” of the levers when you close them. In addition, the removal process (think renovation, service calls, or rewiring) was very easy. Not having to untwist wires from a traditional twist on wire connector or twist the conductor back and forth to get it removed is a blessing.

How would you see these benefiting you on jobs?

 

Time and reliability. From the time of wire insertion into the box, to the time the device was installed, was about a minute. This is a huge time saver versus standard wire connectors. The clear shell of these wire connectors was also very beneficial as it allows you to easily see that the wire was inserted fully. The wire size range is also quite broad allowing for less overall different materials needed for any given project.

 

Would you continue to choose those products?

 

I would absolutely recommend these wire connectors and will surely be using them in the future! Those connectors were super easy to work with, didn't seem flimsy like other brands, and were super easy to install as well as remove! The clear color of the housing itself made it easy to see when you had the conductors inserted fully- a blessing!

We asked electrician Luis Sanchez to test IDEAL lever connectors against a competitor's product to determine which has the best lever security, ease of application, and shortest installation time.

 

Luis praised the simple, quick application of the In-Sure Lever Connectors. Unlike some competitors, the 12 AWG In-Sure model permits a solid wire to be pushed in without opening the lever first. This saves precious seconds for each wire termination.

 

He also noted that the levers on In-Sure connectors are more spaced out and easier to grip, particularly while wearing gloves. This facilitates easier and faster installations.
